As well as offering a range of programs for our community, we also work on projects that will further support small businesses across the region.
Digital Confidence Project
Understanding Small Businesses with North East Victoria
Startup Shakeup supports work on Digital Capacity for small businesses throughout North East Victoria.
Succeeding in the new online world relies on digital inclusion, and our region has had poor ratings in digital ability, access and affordability. However, whilst we have had demographic information from the Australian Digital Inclusion Index, we knew nothing bar anecdotal information about the digital literacy of those in business.
So we did some research measuring the digital literacy of those working in SMEs across the region. We then took these results to inform responses that enable every business to access & use digital tools effectively.
The project was funded by the Regional Digital Fund (Department of Jobs, Precincts, and Regions) and was done in partnership with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society at RMIT and the Centre for Social Impact Swinburne supported by Telstra.
Digital Futures Coordination Group
This working group of the Ovens Murray Regional Partnership is something we have been involved with from the start. The DFCG brings together key stakeholders and supported the development of a Regional Digital Plan in 2019 that included a focus on digital awareness, digital skills, digital data use, digital connectivity and digital governance.
This collaborative approach for the Ovens Murray Region has been a factor in generating over $10M in project funding across the region.
We currently Chair the DFCG and are leading a refresh of the plan, to be delivered by December 2023.
